The well known Stockton Beach, famous for its 32km stretch of golden sand dunes between here and Stockton, is also referred to as the Golden Bight. Four-wheel drive beach access is via James Paterson St west of town. Permits are required to drive on the dunes and there is plenty of fun to be had in a number of ways, either with a tour operator or self drive. 4x4, quad bike, sand buggy, camel, horseback or sandboarding…imagine the fun you can have with free reign in the dunes.

Birubi Beach is a popular swim and surf beach off Fitzroy St. The gorgeous beach is lifeguard patrolled and has a kiosk serving food and refreshments. Robinson Reserve is adjacent to the beach and offers a grassed area with some shade, barbeque and picnic facilities and playground overlooking the water.
