"Shepherds Pie is full of beef and potato and makes a delicious meal whilst camping."
500g beef mince
400g can diced tomatoes
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 bunch spinach chopped (can use frozen or canned spinach)
1 carrot finely chopped
¼ cup gravox
1 cup beef stock
1 kg potatoes peeled and diced
1 Tbspn olive oil
1 Tbspn butter
¼ cup milk
1 cup grated cheese
Heat oil in large frying pan and sauté garlic until soft.
Add mince and brown over high heat stirring constantly.
Add gravox powder and mix well through meat over heat.
Add carrots, spinach, diced tomatoes and beef stock.
Mix well and cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile boil water in pot and cook potatoes for 15-20 minutes until soft.
Mash potatoes, adding butter and milk.
Place mince mixture in camp oven and spread mashed potato over it topping with grated cheese.
Cook over hot coals for 25 minutes.
Alternatively, just serve up the mince mixture and mashed potatoes instead of using the camp oven.
Alternatively omit spinach and use an extra carrot.
